We’re a small but mighty team of coffee-loving queers, proudly brewing in the heart of Tempe, Arizona. At Brick Road Coffee, you’ll find great coffee, tasty pastries, and a space where everyone — LGBTQ+, sober, allies, and neighbors — is welcome.
Our Mission:
Brick Road Coffee was never just about coffee. From the beginning, we set out to build something bigger — a place where people could show up exactly as they are and feel like they belong.
We know what it’s like to feel unwelcome or unseen, and we refuse to let anyone in our community feel that way here. So we built Brick Road to be a home base for connection, conversation, and care — a space where queer folks, sober folks, allies, and anyone looking for kindness can gather over a great cup of coffee and feel part of something real.
Our mission is to create more than a coffee shop. We’re here to build community brick by brick — celebrating who you are, supporting your journey, and reminding you that you don’t have to walk it alone.
About Us / Meet the Owners:
We’re Gabe and Jesse — husbands, community-builders, and the dreamers behind Brick Road Coffee.
We both grew up in small, rural towns in the Midwest, worlds away from the kind of inclusive, vibrant spaces we craved. We were lucky enough to find each other in Southern California over a decade ago and eventually made our way to Arizona, where Tempe became the place we finally felt at home.
Like a lot of people, the pandemic made us pause and really think about what kind of mark we wanted to leave behind — and we knew it wasn’t going to happen sitting behind corporate desks. We dreamed of creating something that felt bigger than us: a place where people could walk in, feel seen, and know they belonged.

We opened Brick Road Coffee in 2021 with that vision — to be a gathering place for our community. What started as one small coffee shop has grown into something bigger than we could have imagined. Today, Brick Road Community Corporation encompasses multiple brands, locations, and initiatives — but at the heart of it all is the same mission: to show up for our neighbors, to take care of our team, and to make damn good coffee while we’re at it.
We believe coffee shops can be so much more than places to grab a drink — they can be the center of a community. They can spark conversations, nurture friendships, and fuel movements. Every day, we’re humbled to watch that happen here.
